Becoming a Volunteer

Medical Professionals

The VIM-Jax Clinic is staffed by dedicated retired and active physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and specialists. These professionals dedicate a few hours a month to fulfill our mission of helping the community’s working uninsured.

Current Medical Volunteer Needs:

• Physicians
• ARNP’s
• Dentists
• Dental Hygienists
• Dental Assistants
• Optometrists

Community Volunteers

Our community volunteers serve an essential role as they lead patients through the appointment process.

Current other volunteer needs:

• Front and Back Office
• Patient Eligibility Screeners
• Special Events
• Data Entry

Thank you so much for your interest in Volunteers in Medicine – Jacksonville.  (VIM-Jax) VIM-Jax is making a much needed, positive contribution to our community, and your participation is invaluable.  VIM-Jax provides a unique opportunity to volunteer, in that your time here does not supplement the professional staff — you are the professional staff.

All volunteers are required to have a background check.  The cost is $6.50 and will be tax deductible if you are able to assist us with this expense.
