Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Jennifer Forrester, FN

A little bit about you:

I’m 41, married with two dogs. I’ve been a nurse for seven years, five of which have been in the ICU. When I’m not at work or at the clinic I enjoy spending my time completing projects around my house and gaming with my husband.

Why do you volunteer with VIM?

My nursing degree was paid for by my community via a program at FSCJ so I felt it was only right that I repay that with medical services to our fellow Jacksonville residents. I also firmly believe that healthcare is a right and that everyone should have access to it. I am happy to be a part of that solution.

What is your favorite part about volunteering with us?

Getting to meet members of the community and helping them along their journey to health and wellness. A close second is the opportunity to work within this local healthcare group. The volunteers at VIM, like me, see healthcare as a necessity and are motivated to provide that care, even at no cost.

Fun fact about you:

I am a huge Star Trek fan/sci-fi fan and have been known to go to conventions and cosplay on occasion.

We love having Jen as one of our longtime Wednesday morning nurses since 2014! Thank you Jen for your years of hard work and dedication.
