Volunteers in Medicine Selected to be featured by The PLAYERS Championship Again!
Volunteers in Medicine is extremely excited to be selected by The Players Championship as a featured charity in their 50-day countdown again! The Players Championship started in 1974 and has become a staple to the Jacksonville community. The Players Championship is giving back to the community by partnering with several media outlets to increase exposure and bring awareness to the 50 selected charities, one for every day of the countdown.

On April 2, or the 36th day of the countdown, Volunteers in Medicine will be highlighted in the Florida Times-Union as well as through local radio and TV stations. Make sure to pick up your copy of the Times-Union and tune in. This is such a great opportunity to reach out to the community, especially those who are living without health insurance unaware that options are available in Jacksonville for working individuals to have free medical care.
Our program is so unique because 90% of all our services are volunteer based. This volunteer services model allows us to be able to provide $5 worth of all medical services, for every $1 donated. Our dedicated volunteers have donated over 200,000 hours time since our doors opened, assisting thousands of uninsured individuals.
We’d personally like to thank The Players Championship for selecting Volunteers in Medicine and for paying it forward to the Jacksonville Community. We are so excited that the community will become more aware of the Jacksonville charities and our causes due to your efforts!
