Twelve Northeast Florida “Women With Heart” To Be Honored by Volunteers in Medicine

Exemplifying exceptional leadership, advocacy and passion, twelve amazing women will be honored as “Women With Heart” by Volunteers in Medicine. The inaugural “Women With Heart” Luncheon will take place on February 8, 2017.

The 2017 inaugural “Women With Heart” honorees are Aimee Boggs, Dr. Annie Egan, Rep. Mia Jones, Paula Liang, Reverend Kate Moorehead, Helen Morse, Kathryn Pearson Peyton, Nicole Thomas, Susan Towler, Lisa Weatherby, and Tracy Williams.

The “Women With Heart” Luncheon at the Florida Blue Conference Center on the Deerwood campus will kick off a one-of-a-kind year-long awareness and “friend-raising” campaign for Volunteers in Medicine. Following the luncheon celebration, each honoree will perform a month of advocacy for, and service to, Volunteers in Medicine. Honorees will be easily recognized by the beautiful diamond heart necklace created by Beard’s Jewelers exclusively for them to wear throughout their designated month. Aptly named, “ The Heart of Jacksonville”, the necklace was created to serve as a distinction of their honor and leadership and will serve as a wonderful “conversation-starter” as they wear it throughout their month of service. Another unique gift for the honorees is being developed by Bacardi, who wants to commemorate the accomplishments and contributions of these women bycreating a limited edition custom-blended and labeled signature rum specifically to honor “Women With Heart” and the event’s major sponsors.
