Aimee’s community involvement began in 1990 with her love of cycling and her first MS-150 ride. That 150-mile bike ride fueled her enthusiasm and the Board of the Florida Chapter of the MS Society recognized her interest to become more involved. Aimee joined the board and became the first female Board chair from 1998-2000 with over 20 MS-150 rides.

In 2009 there was a new direction for Aimee’s Community outreach. Dane Boggs, Aimee’s husband since 1983, had been diagnosed with Lyme Disease a few years prior. The experience for them was nearly devastating. At that time, there were no doctors in Jacksonville treating the disease and Dane traveled monthly to South Florida seeking treatment from a specialist in Fort Lauderdale. Dane felt strongly that he wanted to raise awareness about this very controversial disease. Along with long-time friend and fellow Lyme Disease patient, Andrea King, Aimee and Dane Boggs co-founded the Northeast Florida Lyme Association and for six years Aimee was President of NEFLA.

Aimee has been involved in many organizations, some of which she helped create. Those organizations include The Ponte Vedra Cultural Center, Community Peds and The Northeast Florida Lyme Association (co-founder) which later became the Florida Lyme Disease Association. She is also co-founder of Celebrating Possibilities, a semi-annual community event that features guest speakers addressing topics ranging from Health and Wellness, Politics, Fashion to Finance. The charities that this organization has helped include: Pace Center for Girls, The Jacksonville Humane Society, Florida Lyme Disease Association, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Baptist Neurological Institute and WJCT.
Aimee and her husband Dane of 33 years share a love of snow skiing, bicycling and yoga.
