Audrey Gibson – Women with Heart Honoree for August 2018





Audrey Gibson is a native of Jacksonville, Florida’s Northside. She attended local schools in Jacksonville and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in Criminology. She is the proud mother of adult children. Her leisure interests include sporting events, Formula 1 and NASCAR racing, flower gardening, music and period movies.



During her career, Senator Gibson has worked as a Congressional District Administrator and as a Business Community Liaison. Senator Gibson sits on numerous committees and is affiliated with many cause-worthy organizations, such as NCSL Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Infrastructure; Blueprint for Leadership (Class of 1999); Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Board of Directors; Scenic Jacksonville Advisory Board; Jacksonville Women’s Network (JWN); Women’s Legislators’ Lobby (WiLL); Women’s Action for New Directions (WAND); Citizens for Tree Protection; Save Our Libraries; Democratic Executive Committee, Chair; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.-Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter; and charter member of Northwest Jacksonville Community Development Corporation, among others.

In her current capacity as State Senator for District 6, she is committed to fighting for her constituents as well as all people of the State of Florida. She currently serves on the following committees:
