Dr. Pam Rama – Women with Heart Honoree for December 2019



Pamela Rama, MD, is a cardiologist with Baptist Heart Specialists who specializes in the prevention of heart disease, non-invasive cardiac testing and managing chronic conditions like diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure to prevent damage to the heart. Completing her Doctor in Medicine at the University of East in the Philippines, she completed her residency at Roger Williams Medical Center/Brown University in RI, and her Fellowship in Cardiology at Brown University.



Dr. Rama is a leading non-invasive, preventive cardiologist who serves as Medical Director of HeartWise prevention program, and Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Baptist Beaches. As a cardiologist, prevention of heart disease is the main focus; she has a special love for working with female patients and their specific heart needs. Dr. Rama is proud to be one of the Doctors that formed the Women in Medicine group, which is a support group for women doctors to encourage more female physicians to go into leadership positions at Baptist Health and in the community. She is also a trustee of the Baptist Foundation, on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association- Greater Southeast Affiliate, former President of the First Coast Metro American Heart Association, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the American College of Cardiology, Florida Chapter. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Rama was named a winner for Harper’s Bazaar – Fabulous at Every Age in 2016 where she was flown to NYC for a shopping spree, photoshoot and award ceremony.

Dr. Rama is married to Virgilio de Padua, MD who was born and raised in Jacksonville. Together they have four children and one grandson. In her free time, she enjoys watching football, traveling, shopping, and watching plays. Her children are her pride and joy and she loves playing with her grandson.
