Sol Wynter – Women with Heart Honoree for October 2019
Sol defines herself as the “Face of those your organization serves” because her uniqueness allows her to represent every class of our society.
She was born in Bocas del Toro, Panama Republic and shares Jamaican and USA citizenship. She relocated from the Panama Republic in 1998 to Florida and has lived in Jacksonville, FL since 2004. Sol is an active member of higher education institutions community advisory and research (UF Gainesville and Mayo Clinic Jacksonville), statewide coalitions, community action networks, committees and a member of Volunteers in Medicine P.E.A.C.E. Community advisory board. She is the mother of Yjang Wynter, a first USA generation college student. Sol believes through collaboration and accountability we can build a better, happier, and healthier community.
